TLDR
Hy-Tek Meet Manager is professional desktop meet software for seeding, scoring, timing interfaces, and large multi-team meets. Split Track is a mobile all-in-one for high school track and cross country coaches: season schedule, live split capture, athlete workouts, roster, tasks, and chat. Choose Hy-Tek when you are the meet director with photo finish and scoreboards. Choose Split Track when you need one app to run your T&F and XC program without a timing trailer.
Two different jobs
Coaches often say "meet management" and mean two things. One is hosting a big invite: heats, flights, Lynx feeds, scoreboards, award labels. The other is running your own program: who is in the 4x4, what the XC workout is Thursday, who RSVP'd to the away meet, and how fast the second group hit their 200s.
Hy-Tek Meet Manager for Track & Field (ACTIVE Hy-Tek) is built for the first job. Split Track is built for the second, across both the track and cross country seasons, with meet-day tools that fit a phone in a coach's hand.
What Hy-Tek does well
Meet Manager is designed to run track meets at many levels. Documented capabilities include multiple seeding methods, heat sheets and performance lists, next-round control, entry and fee reports, award and admin labels, individual and team scoring, PDF reports, metric/English conversion, and cross country options depending on package. Advanced options cover photo finish interfaces (FinishLynx and others), button finish timers, scoreboards, field event interfaces, and multi-user Pro Network with real-time web results.
If you are the host school with automatic timing and a clerking table, Hy-Tek is in its element.
Where Hy-Tek is a heavy fit
Full Meet Manager is desktop-oriented meet operations software, not a daily athlete engagement app. You still need somewhere else for practice design athletes can open on their phones, RSVPs, team chat without phone-number sprawl, task tracking for physicals, and quick dual-meet or XC race timing when you are not wired to Lynx. It also has no concept of a cross country season, summer mileage, or the week-to-week training cycle that spans both sports.
For a dual or triangular where one coach is also the timer, that stack can be more than the day requires.
How Split Track fills the program gap
Split Track puts practices, meets, rosters, workouts, and team comms in one mobile app, with roles for head coaches, event coaches, athletes, parents, and timers or volunteers.
On meet day, Meet Manager inside Split Track covers event assignments, live capture of times and splits, inviting a parent or athlete to help time a specific event, and sharing results with the team right away. On practice days, coaches build the workout, run it live, and sync splits to athlete profiles against goals.
- All-in-one mobile app, no separate meet PC for ordinary duals and XC races
- Live split capture, intervals and races timed in the flow of the day
- Athlete-facing workouts, the plan is not trapped in the coach's notebook
- Free trial, first month free to test a full practice and meet cycle
Quick decision guide
| Scenario | Better primary tool |
|---|---|
| Host invite with auto timing and scoreboards | Hy-Tek Meet Manager |
| Dual/tri or XC meet; coach is also timer | Split Track |
| Daily T&F and XC practices, RSVPs, chat, tasks | Split Track |
| National-level meet operations packages | Hy-Tek |
| Athlete phone experience all week, both seasons | Split Track |
Some programs use both: Hy-Tek (or the host's system) when they host a major meet, Split Track for everything else.
